For Our Dearly Departing Southern Strain Plaza Midwood
With heavy hearts and well-worn pint glasses, we gather to honor the life and legacy of our beloved neighborhood taproom, Southern Strain Plaza Midwood, as it takes its final bow.
After years of loyal service—pouring the best beer in Plaza, hosting plant workshops and CLT’s first Nerd Nite, and holding impromptu therapy sessions at the bar—we invite you to join us for one last hurrah.
In Lieu of Flowers: Please bring prospective job opportunities, generous stipends, or glowing connections for our incredible staff as they embark on their next chapter. Love, laughter, and LinkedIn leads are all appreciated. Mackenzie also loves flowers. And we all love snacks.
Entertainment: John Dungan (Charlotte's best musician--c'mon) will be providing live music from 4-6pm, followed by poetry, readings, and shares from anyone with a story to tell (or who has had a few too many wink wink), and we’ll have the polaroid clickin’ til the film runs out.
Food: Potluck style—bring something to share.
Let us raise one final glass in the place where stories were told, tabs were forgotten, and strangers became regulars. Come toast the memories, tip your bartenders (generously—money pleaseeee), and help us send Southern Strain off in proper fashion.

By far one of the best brewery additions to this area. Me and my fiance head over there multiple times a week. Staff is always super friendly and they are all really cool to talk to as well. Beer menu is never ending and they have something for everyone.
